Argo Students Give Back
During this past holiday season the students of Argo Community High School pooled their resources and delivered more than 2115 lbs. of canned goods and non-perishable items to the Greater Chicago Food Depository. This amount will provide more than 1590 quality meals for the hungry people in our community. The Greater Chicago Food Depository is a nonprofit food distribution and training center striving to end hunger in the greater Chicago community. The Food Depository distributes the equivalent of 134,800 meals every day and Argo Community High School contributed to the need during the busiest time of the year. On December 12th, a few dedicated Argonauts helped load the truck then stopped to snap a picture before heading back to class. At ACHS we are dedicated to preparing students to be effective citizens in a global society. An important part of our educational philosophy is to not only make students aware of the societal issues in their backyard and around the globe, but also trying to make a difference. The canned food drive was organized out of the Deans’ Office and Mrs. Ghaowi, Mr. Naughton, and Mrs. Verde are very proud of all the students who participated and want to thank Mrs. Salazar, Mrs. Wagner, and Ms. Young for all their help in coordinating this effort.
