ACHS Presents: Rachel's Challenge

Rachel's Challenge is a series of student empowering programs and strategies that equip students and adults with the tools to combat bullying with an emphasis on creating a culture of kindness and compassion. The programs are based on the writings and life of 17 year-old Rachel Scott who was the first student killed at Columbine High School in 1999.  The focus of Rachel’s Challenge is to inspire “a chain reaction of kindness and compassion,” and this message will be presented to the entire school community on January 8th.  Students will experience Rachel’s Challenge during one of two school assemblies and a small group of students will later participate in a leadership workshop to find ways to keep this message of kindness a focus in the school.

As well, members of the community are encouraged to attend an evening presentation that will be held in the Auditorium at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, January 8th.  For more information about Rachel’s Challenge, check out their website at www.rachelschallenge.org and you may contact Denise Ghaowi, Dean of Students, at 708-467-5805 or dghaowi@argohs.net.
