Argo Takes 3rd Place in 1st Annual Cooking Competition

Our Argo Culinary Arts Team won 3rd place at the competition on Tuesday March 19th. The 3 girls did a great job: Teresita, Donia and Mayra. Please congratulate them on a job well done!

Also, congratulations to their teacher/coach, Erica Swanson. She had put in countless hours to prepare to host this event and to prepare her students for the competition. Great job to all.

By the way…Shepard High School won 2nd and Richards High School won first place. All the students did a great job working under pressure to complete their meal.

Freshmen English Classes

You are unique.

Don't judge a book by it's cover.

Here are some creations from the freshmen in Studies in Reading and Writing English classes.

Prior to reading "To Kill a Mockingbird," students created "Brown Bag Collages." The purpose was to get students thinking of inward/outward personalities and not judging a book by it's cover. Each bag has a surprise theme that tied to the day's reading.

The students also created "Express Sculptures" with a partner to communicate their interpretation of the essence of "To Kill a Mockingbird."
