Argo FALP Students Help at Chicago Food Depository

1 out of 6 people living in Cook County do not know where they are going to get their next meal.  At the Greater Chicago Food Depository, volunteers are able to show up and make a difference.  Argo’s FALP students took up the challenge to participate in the Brights labeling task.  Cans are bought at a very low cost because they do not have the customary label from the food company.  Once labeled with the name and ingredients list, these cans are shipped out to 650 local food pantries, shelters, and food banks.  In this warehouse setting, the FALP students were not only able to use their functional vocational skills, but do service work as well.  With the guidance of Depository staff, the students were able to label and pack 720 cans.  That’s 30 cases!
