The Argo Chess Team will participate in the IHSA State tournament on Friday:
Good luck Jair, Matt, Nick, Edward, Josh, Juan, Gary, Isaiah, Nick, Cecilia, Jose, and Tyra!
The Argo chess team participated in a US Chess Federation tournament this Saturday and came in 1st place. The team was formed by Jair Herrera, Matt Ward, Edward Dornbos, Jose Torres, Isaiah velazquez, Cecilia Robles and Tyra Moore. Special congratulations to Matt Ward coming in 1st place in the sophomore category and Edward Dornbos coming in 1st in the freshman category.
Wednesday 1/30
The Argo Varsity Chess team won against Oak Lawn Tuesday (1/29), while the JV team lost, both teams finished conference in 2nd Place. Special congratulations goes to:
Jair coming in 3rd place on 1st Board,
Matt coming in 2nd place on 2nd board and 3rd place All Conference,
Nick coming in 3rd place on 3rd board and 17th place All Conference,
Edward coming in 2nd place on 4th board and 11th place All Conference,
Juan coming in 4th place on 5th board,
Gary coming in 2nd place on 6th board,
Nick coming in 3rd place on 7th board, and
Cecilia coming in 4th place on 8th board.
